About The Position
The Research Portfolio Specialist I is responsible for providing institutional-level research administration services, including creating and maintaining relationships with researchers and program teams on behalf of the Department of Programs (DoP).
This is a hybrid-remote corporate position.
Compensation: $28.00/HOUR
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required (1+ years of relevant experience may be substituted for education requirement)
Minimum of one (1) year grants, contracts, or clinical trials administration preferred
Ability to work independently and proactively is required
Strong written and oral communication skills with a high level of customer service required
Advanced grammar skills and technical editing ability required
Computer skills including intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software required
Experience with industry-sponsored awards preferred
Research or healthcare background and knowledge of DoD process and procedural knowledge preferred
Responsibilities
Initiate equipment, materials and service procurement requests to include travel; process participant stipends and renumeration; secure proffers, bids, and vendor information when necessary
Follow-up on outstanding procurement requests communicating with the research teams
Review all budget expenditures and charge requests to ensure compliance with approved budget, researcher and/or program team approval, Uniform Guidance compliance, and verify that purchase does not require prior approval from sponsor
Monitor proposal status and advise researcher and program team on requirements and submission deadlines
Provide support of study startup activities and close out activities for grants and PI-driven contracts
Leverage pre-award surge capabilities to support administrative components of proposal submissions (checklists, templates, boilerplates)
Schedule and assist with facilitating regular meetings with researchers and program teams to discuss project progress, challenges, and questions on upcoming phases (no less than quarterly)
Track reporting deadlines and provide research teams with templates for technical report submissions; finalize and submit reports to sponsor
Ensure accuracy of monthly budget reports and distribute to researcher and program teams for active projects
Support administrative components of proposal submissions, such as completing forms and formatting documents in accordance with sponsor requirements
Assist in providing regular updates to portfolio revenue goals
Ensure applicable award documentation (including approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.) as well as any communications with the sponsor or any other Federal or regulatory office (including prior approvals, change in scope, etc.) are received and appropriately stored and maintained
Conduct general funding searches for researchers and program teams
