The Multi‑Purpose Clerk is an integral member of a highly motivated team focused on delivering an outstanding store guest experience. The role may be assigned to one of several departments—including Center Store Market, Fresh Market, Guest Services, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, Janitorial, Valley Fresh, or Restaurant—where you will promote sales, answer guest questions, place special orders, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate the check stand and perform POS transactions.
Receive, inspect, log, and stock products; maintain freshness and departmental appeal.
Prepare and display produce, meat/seafood, and bakery/deli items, including special orders such as custom cuts, cakes, or party trays.
Operate equipment as required (slicers, wrappers, ovens, proofers, mixers, forklift, baler).
Maintain a clean and safe work area, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing facilities daily.
Support restaurant operations: take orders, handle cash, and clean dining areas as needed.
All Department Assignment Duties
Sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas.
Operate forklift if authorized and certified.
Operate baler if authorized.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Hiring pay range: $16.75 - $25.70 per hour.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Excellent guest service and communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to work with a sense of urgency, self‑motivation, and the initiative to be proactive and flexible.
Education High School Diploma (or GED) or equivalent work experience.
Experience Six months of grocery retail related experience.
Other Requirements Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours; must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Demands Requires frequent standing and physical movements; lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
