We are looking for an experienced phlebotomist to perform blood collection and related procedures in accordance with the organization’s policies, FDA regulations, and AABB standards.
Responsibilities
Obtain medical history and vital signs from donors and/or patients.
Perform phlebotomy and collection procedures to collect blood or components.
Display excellent customer service and professionalism toward all customers.
Assist with recruitment of potential apheresis and bone marrow donors.
Qualifications Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and Designations:
None required.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Ability to read, understand, and follow safety rules and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to organize work for timely completion.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative relationships.
Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements Tasks involve lifting, carrying, pushing up to 50 pounds, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, standing, and manual dexterity operating phlebotomy equipment. Tasks requiring moving significant weight may need assistance or proper equipment.
Environmental Requirements Work occurs inside and outside; exposure to adverse conditions, blood‑borne pathogens, vibration, and motion. Noise level is usually moderate.
