Agricultural/Commercial Loan Officer
North Star Community Credit Union is looking for an Agricultural/Commercial Loan Officer to originate, manage, and supervise its commercial loan portfolio. The successful candidate will develop new and existing business relationships and maintain high asset quality.

Base pay range $68,132.48/yr - $68,132.48/yr
Role To originate, manage, and supervise the Credit Union's portfolio of commercial loans, with overall objective of maintaining and increasing its asset quality; to develop new and existing business relationships.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
N 50% Takes applications for commercial loan business. Reviews member financial condition and assesses the member's ability to re-pay the loan. Makes underwriting decisions within approval authority. Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.
N 20% Participates in developing lending and deposit business for the Credit Union. Calls on clients to expand existing business; calls on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the Credit Union's client base.
N 10% Monitors existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base. Maintains up-to-date member files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections and all loan documentation.
N 10% Assists in collection of past due loans.
N 5% Assists members with any loan-related questions and concerns.
N 5% Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements
Consistently follows The North Star Way Service Competencies and Service Standards.
Achieve or exceed assigned loan volume (dollars and/or numbers).
Ensure loan decisions are made and relayed to appropriate parties within 7 days of complete application.
Maintain a 30-day delinquency rate at or below 1% of loan portfolio.
Maintain a charge-off rate of no more than 0.40% of loan portfolio.
Ensure loan decisions are in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Lending regulations, policies and procedures.
Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
Actively participate in Community and Credit Union Industry activities and events.
Minimal unplanned absences and tardiness.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills: Must have experience in analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses; must have excellent communication and PR skills; ability to use related software required.
