Retail Team Leader – (Ringgold, GA)
Position Overview
Retail Team leader will share responsibilities for retail merchandising operations at a branch/division level. Acts as a relief retail merchandiser for vacation, open and training routes. This position supports the execution and compliance of planograms, promotions and retail initiatives as set forth by the company.
Responsibilities
Assists the Retail Team Manager and Division leadership in training, coaching and counseling, and directing daily retail route operations assigned to his/her team, including customer retention, price execution, promotional compliance, customer satisfaction, product and cash variances, adherence to delivery schedules, interviewing and training new merchandisers, inventory accuracy, ensuring a safe work environment, and the team’s fleet maintenance.
Responsible for filling in on various routes for the assigned team and delivering quality service at or above industry standards.
Loads, delivers and merchandises items such as soft drinks, non‑carbonated drinks, coffee products, cups, condiments, snack items, fresh food, and sundries to customer locations.
Replenishes market and vending items, cleans and sanitizes vending and micro‑market equipment and display/checkout areas, inventories items, and collects all cash and coins.
Uses proper stock rotation, displays product correctly, and removes unsold product beyond best‑by date.
Handles perishable food products, verifies refrigeration temperatures, and notifies management of temperature breaches.
Executes all company planograms and promotions as prescribed.
Maintains fixtures, kiosks, DVRs, headers and machines in working order.
Records transactions accurately on delivery tickets or electronic devices, and conducts inventory reconciliation.
Utilizes inventory devices to maintain product levels and orders replacement inventory.
Assists with communication to customers about new products or services, and sets up displays and promotional materials.
Listens to and resolves service complaints.
Conducts minor service and adjustments on machines.
Maintains clean company vehicles, completes pre‑trip inspections, and handles fuel card usage.
Complies with DOT regulations and company safety, loss prevention, cash handling and inventory controls.
Ensures a safe work environment and reports unsafe acts or conditions.
General Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 lbs+ repetitively.
Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license (DOT).
Must consent to a pre‑employment background check.
Must consent to a drug screen.
Ability to follow workplace safety policies and guidelines.
