Mechanical Engineer

The
Mechanical Engineer
role is responsible for designing industrial, manufacturing, educational, and municipal facilities. This includes creating detailed design documentation, performing HVAC calculations, leading design teams, and coordinating with project leadership.
Responsibilities
Understand project scope and provide complete detailed design documentation using KAEKO standards, meeting AHJ code requirements to obtain a building permit.
Perform building load and ventilation calculations using Trane Trace (or Carrier Hap) and provide HVAC design in accordance with ASHRAE, IBC, IMC, and IECC guidelines.
Assign design tasks to the design team.
Mentor junior and mid-level designers.
Coordinate project requirements with Project Manager and Team Leadership.
Communicate project status and issues/concerns with Team Leadership.
Communicate with in‑house and out‑of‑house design team members to ensure quality and coordinated design.
Attend out‑of‑office meetings as required.
Conduct pre‑design site visits and as‑built documentation.
Work within KAEKO standards and QC/QA practices.
Minimum Requirements
10+ years of mechanical design experience in the consulting engineering industry.
Licensed Professional Engineer with Arizona registration.
Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace (or Carrier Hap), ComCheck, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
Good understanding of the construction process.
Proficient with International Building Codes.
Proficient with chilled water, DX package, split system, and VRF system designs.
Experience with steam system design.
Experience with plumbing system design.
Familiarity with CSI Master specifications.
Demonstrates leadership and communication skills.
Control system design knowledge.
High attention to detail.
