The Stock Clerk loads the displays and shelves with groceries and merchandise for sale to the customers. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with Sedano's Supermarkets goals, values, and operating principles, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Retrieve, load, and unload products and merchandise onto carts to move from back room to store displays and/or shelving.
Properly operate department equipment and tools.
Assist with the unloading of delivery trucks.
Keep work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards.
Politely greet customers with a smile and provide excellent customer service; attend to customers’ needs and call for manager or supervisor when necessary.
Promptly report maintenance and safety issues, especially floor conditions, to the manager on duty.
Report all accidents promptly to the manager on duty.
Support other departments when needed in a courteous manner.
Perform other work‑related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.
Maintain punctuality and good attendance in compliance with company policies.
Retrieve shopping carts from parking lot.
Assist with bagging when needed; place items in bags for customers and help load items into shopping carts.
Assist cashiers with price checks on any store merchandise.
May perform general cleaning duties such as mopping and sweeping.
Ability to read and speak English and Spanish (preferred).
Ability to understand and follow instructions in both English and Spanish (preferred).
Ability to use department equipment properly to accomplish essential duties.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one‑on‑one situations with customers and the general public.
Good interpersonal skills.
Takes responsibility for own actions.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written or oral form.
Basic math and numeral recognition.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
