Overview
If you’d be excited to work in a professional kitchen preparing and cooking meals, consider applying for the position of Deli Clerk. As one of the fastest growing natural foods retailers, we’re seeking team members who are excited to share their passion for food.
Responsibilities As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing fresh meals and providing a high level of customer service. You will arrange vegetables or sliced meats for made‑to‑order sandwiches, assist with catering orders, and serve customers with knowledge of our meats, cheeses, and deli items. You must maintain food safety standards, manage equipment, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Qualifications
Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field.
Be dependable, reliable, and maintain an outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude.
Work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
Answer phones and take special orders.
Lift/carry product weighing up to 70 lbs. for up to 20 feet for 4 hours without mechanical assistance.
Stand continuously for up to 4 hours per shift, totaling 8 hours per shift.
Perform general housekeeping and sanitize work area.
Operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment; maintain safety.
Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
Other related duties as assigned.
Pay The pay range for this position is $17.45 - $23.55 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
