I. Job Summary Safely operate a heavy‑duty truck to perform duties on transfer routes.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal requirements; maintain a clean and safe vehicle.
Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) and document all issues.
Report unsafe situations or service calls to the Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
Participate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings required by Operations Manager.
Collaborate with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problems or unsafe situations.
Carry out all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch, including assisting other company drivers as directed.
Notify the Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
Notify Dispatch or Operations Manager of issues per Service Machine protocol (e.g., blocked containers, missed pickups).
Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
Completely dump all containers, leaving the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
Submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
Position containers on the customer’s property to ensure lids are properly replaced and containers are upright without blocking driveways or traffic.
Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory duties.
IV. Qualifications
Education:
None required.
Experience:
No prior work experience required.
Certifications:
Commercial Driver’s License B (CDL) and must be at least 18 years old.
Successful completion of a pre‑employment DOT drug screen, physical, background check, motor‑vehicle record review, and acceptable driving record.
