Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will carry out activities on the project site related to construction and contract administration including developing and coordinating system test procedures, organizing user training sessions, administering functional performance tests, conducting field observations, attending progress meetings, and assisting in document control. Responsibilities

Observe the construction work for conformance to drawings and specifications. Lead and manage the commissioning process for complex construction projects, ensuring all systems and components are installed, tested, and functioning according to design specifications. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to develop and execute commissioning plans. Coordinate comprehensive inspections and tests of mechanical and electrical systems in mission‑critical facilities. Utilize commissioning software and data analysis tools to monitor project progress and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, providing technical support and guidance as needed. Document all commissioning activities, including test results and any corrective actions taken. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in commissioning processes. Additional duties as required. Skills

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering (or another engineering discipline) from an accredited program. Must be able and willing to be at the project site in Belvidere, IL, at least 5 days per week. Functional knowledge of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, plumbing/piping, electrical, technology, instrumentation and controls, process or lighting systems. Understanding of applicable codes, standards and specification requirements, and ability to interpret them. Extensive knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery. Fundamental knowledge of construction processes and project delivery models. Proficient in application of applicable technologies including computer/software, data loggers, test and measurement equipment. Professional Engineering license (PE) in one or more states or minimum of 5 years in a commissioning related practice.
