Main Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in-house counsel with review, negotiation and drafting of agreements, commercial bids, and other documents. Responsibilities include analyzing documents for consistency with gategroup’s standard contractual terms and conditions, revising documents, maintaining accurate and version-controlled files, and ensuring that matters are completed efficiently and on time.

Assist in-house counsel in managing all aspects of litigation and other claims brought by or against the Company, including managing the litigation hold process, responding to subpoenas or similar documents, document collection and sharing with external counsel, managing calendars and scheduling to ensure compliance with deadlines, and liaising between external counsel and gategroup employees.

Assist in-house counsel with legal compliance activities including conducting due diligence and internal investigations, preparing reports, and monitoring and directing activities in the operational units and business to ensure that legal compliance issues are addressed and resolved.

Respond to questions from the units and consult with attorneys on appropriate solutions as necessary.

Support corporate governance matters for all gategroup NA entities.

Conduct legal research and monitor for legal developments in areas relevant to the business.

Other duties as assigned by in‑house counsel.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Paralegal certification required.

Work Experience:

5+ years of experience at a law firm as a paralegal handling litigation, employment, or corporate matters, or related experience in a mid to large sized company required.

Previous litigation and contract drafting experience preferred.

Job Skills:

Understanding of fundamental legal terms in a contract and experience working on contracts

Excellent legal research skills, including experience using case‑law databases

Experience managing documentary disclosure, including implementation of litigation holds and document review

Experience preparing court, agency and tribunal forms

Team player with excellent organization skills

Superior analytic and problem‑solving skills

Must have outstanding attention to detail

Ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities

Strong PC skills including MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint required

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, solve problems, make recommendations, and draw valid conclusions in a timely and accurate manner.

Language / Communication Skills:

Ability to use analytical skills to review an issue and brainstorm with counsel most effective strategies to resolve issues.

Ability to communicate ideas and thoughts effectively orally and in writing.

Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
