Human Resources Generalist

The purpose of this job is to provide Human Resources support – Recruiting, Benefit Administration, Payroll, Employee Relations, etc. – for the Distribution Centers.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
Coordinates recruitment and onboarding for the Distribution Center, including the use of temporary service agencies and the hiring and placement of temporary workers. Conducts pre‑employment activities, including reference checks, background checks, drug screens, E‑Verify, etc. and facilitates new associate orientation and onboarding.
Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and reporting. Utilise and maintain time and attendance systems to process bi‑weekly payroll and related information (hours, rates, status, miscellaneous earnings, etc.).
Responsible for managing attendance policy and procedure.
Conduct HRIS data entry, processing and reporting.
Co‑ordinates various employee incentive, recognition and engagement programmes and activities.
Communicates and interprets policies and procedures for Distribution Center associates and assists the management team with employee relations issues. Participates in the discipline and discharge of associates as necessary.
Manages responses to all unemployment claims and is involved in all unemployment hearings.
Administers, interprets and explains benefits available to the associates, including oversight for FMLA, leaves of absence, short‑term disability and long‑term disability.
Assist with drafting and distributing general HR communications.
Additional duties as assigned.

To join our band, you’ll need the following experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
2 years of relevant work experience within Human Resources (in addition to degree) or 6 years of related experience, preferably with a background in recruiting/staffing, LOA, FMLA.
1 year of experience in a generalist role required, preferably in a distribution/manufacturing facility with heavy focus on LOA and Benefits.
Skilled proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Novice knowledge of employment and benefit laws and regulations.
