Mechanical Estimator
| Location: Onsite In Office (Hillsboro, OR) | Contract Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months) | Pay Range: $40.00-$60.00/hour
This is a long-term career oriented position. Within this role you can move up into different departments and take on more responsibility. Pay raises will be included.
About the Role We are working with our client in seeking a Mechanical Estimator to support large-scale capital construction projects. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, and collaborating with engineers and project teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze blueprints and prepare detailed cost estimates.
Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and input data into estimating systems.
Obtain up-to-date pricing from contractors, suppliers, and databases.
Collaborate with engineers to clarify project scope.
Maintain organized project documents and cost data libraries.
Prepare cost reconciliations and explain variances.
Assist staff in improving project efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
Minimum 7 years of estimating experience in manufacturing or mechanical/electrical/process piping.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost estimating systems.
Strong understanding of MEP, mechanical systems, and quantity surveying.
Ability to read blueprints and perform detailed takeoffs.
Familiarity with electronic takeoff tools (e.g., CAD Measure).
Professional certifications (RICS, CCE, CCM, AACEI, etc.) preferred.
Nice to Have
Experience with piping, cost analysis, and engineering drawings.
