Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Overview
Experienced Electrical Estimator needed for projects ranging from
$50K to $10M+ .
Not an entry-level role; must contribute immediately and improve processes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed takeoffs for electrical systems from blueprints and specs (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, etc.).
Calculate labor hours using real productivity rates (union vs. open shop).
Coordinate with vendors for competitive pricing on gear, fixtures, and materials.
Prepare clear, professional proposals that win work.
Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure accurate execution.
Apply value engineering to reduce costs without compromising quality.
Technical Expertise
Knowledge of electrical systems: power distribution, lighting controls, fire alarm, emergency power, motor controls, low‑voltage.
Strong understanding of NEC, local codes, and NFPA standards.
Preferred Software Skills
Bluebeam (or equivalent) for takeoffs and markups.
Advanced Excel for complex spreadsheets.
Ability to read and navigate AutoCAD/Revit drawings.
Union Work Knowledge
Understand IBEW classifications, union agreements, and prevailing wage requirements.
Ability to estimate both union and non‑union projects accurately.
Qualifications
5+ years
of electrical construction estimating experience (commercial/industrial preferred).
Experience with projects
$5M+ .
Journeyman license or equivalent experience (preferred).
Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management (preferred but not required).
Strong math skills and attention to detail.
Salary range:
$75K–$120K , based on experience.
