Mead & Hunt is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Building Engineering team as a Plumbing Engineer. This opportunity is available at Milwaukee, WI; Madison, WI; Denver, CO; Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL; Portland, OR; Sacramento, CA; San Diego, CA; Scottsdale, AZ; Dallas, TX; and Bloomington, MN. The position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, requiring at least three days per week onsite at our office—an excellent opportunity to enjoy both in‑office collaboration and remote flexibility.
Responsibilities
Lead the plumbing design of multiple projects of various sizes.
Prepare reports and studies.
Select, specify, and estimate costs of plumbing system equipment and fixtures.
Perform calculations as required.
Conduct periodic construction site inspections.
Supervise staff on project teams.
Other tasks as assigned.
A valid driver’s license and approximately up to 25% travel will be required.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mechanical or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university.
At least six years of relevant plumbing engineering experience.
PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in additional states.
Preferred Experience
Leading plumbing design of complex projects including fire suppression/sprinkler, compressed air/gas, laboratory water/gas, and medical gas design.
Performing calculations for system layout and sizing.
Using Revit to create bid document drawings.
Designing systems for federal government projects.
Knowledge of plumbing, fire protection, and building codes.
CPD certification from ASPE is preferred.
