Job Overview FreeStar Financial Credit Union is looking for a dynamic and outgoing professional to join our Loan Sales Department. This role focuses on building relationships with our members and providing an excellent sales experience.

St. Clair Shores Branch

Days:

Monday through Friday, occasional Saturdays

Hours:

8 AM – 5 PM

Salary:

$18 per hour, plus monthly/annual incentive bonus

Position Purpose The primary purpose of the Lending Representative is to assist FreeStar Financial Credit Union in fulfilling our mission to positively impact the lives of our members, team members, and community through making meaningful connections and progressive financial solutions. In addition, providing an excellent sales experience for our membership by placing them in the best lending products for their needs.

What You'll Do In This Role

Primary responsibility is to assist membership with their financial needs over the phone.

Review members' accounts and assist them with any loan related concerns before and after origination.

Reverse loan payments and perform additional financial transactions as needed.

Follow up with members and affiliates to relay loan decisions expeditiously.

Make follow‑up outgoing phone calls to members in an attempt to close approved loan applications.

Communicate with dealers, insurance companies, and employers to maintain accurate loan files for underwriting.

Efficiently review and verify supporting documentation for approved consumer loan applications, create loan documents, and schedule member closings for both DocuSign and branch.

Monitor the loan payoff spreadsheet and make outgoing calls to solicit new loan originations.

Monitor contact manager requests in Portico to assist branch with VISA travel requests, address changes, etc.

Process loan payoff letter requests for members when necessary.

Process letter of guarantee requests from insurance companies when necessary.

Process subsequent action forms as needed.

Update and maintain LDP and missed opportunity spreadsheets to track origination standards and goals.

Review booked loan report, CL/CD report, and missed opportunity report for accuracy.

Review loan exceptions and execute necessary corrections to maintain the loan file.

Provide suggestions on new and innovative ideas to improve processes and foster a positive working environment.

Assist in documenting and revising procedures for the lending department as assigned.

Review all Credit Union issued memos.

All other duties as assigned by management.

What You'll Bring To FreeStar Financial

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year of similar or related experience in the financial industry.

Knowledge of various federal regulations, including:

Right to Financial Privacy Act

Regulation E (EFTS)

Regulation CC (Funds Availability)

Regulation Z (Truth in Lending)

Truth in Savings Act

Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
