What You'll Do: Campus IRB Support
Advise and assist faculty, students, staff, and administrators on ethical research design and regulatory interpretation.
Conduct preliminary reviews of protocol submissions, including risk/benefit analysis and review level determination.
Write memoranda summarizing pre‑review outcomes and rationale for changes.
Act as liaison between the IRB and Duke faculty, students, staff, and administrators.
Program Development
Assist the Program Director in developing policy and resource materials.
Conduct seminars and workshops for students, staff, and faculty.
Develop in‑service training for the IRB.
Assist with initiatives and projects as needed.
Constituent Support
Prepare agreements with other institutions engaged in collaborative research with Duke.
Correspond with external agencies regarding research.
Respond to inquiries from research subjects.
Preferred Experience Social, behavioral, and educational research IRB experience is strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Minimum of two years in an administrative or regulatory environment, preferably within human research protections in the social and behavioral sciences.
A related master's degree may substitute for experience on a 1:1 basis.
Anticipated Pay Range Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as
USD $61,535.00 to USD $95,880.00 . Compensation includes comprehensive medical and dental care programs, retirement benefits, and family‑friendly programs.
