Position Summary:
This role is responsible for generating residential mortgage loan production through both internal referrals and external business development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations, loan origination systems, and correspondent loan sale practices, along with strong working knowledge of residential loan products, pricing strategies, and loan structuring.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Originate residential mortgage loans through proactive outreach to internal partners and external referral sources.
Develop and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, attorneys, financial advisors, and other referral partners.
Guide borrowers through the loan process, from application to closing, ensuring a smooth and compliant experience.
Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
Originate residential mortgages under sound quality control lending practices to mitigate risk. Monitor an existing loan portfolio to minimize loan delinquencies.
Maintain thorough knowledge of current mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and pricing strategies.
Ensure compliance with TRID, RESPA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
Utilize Encompass loan origination system to manage loan files, reports, and file documentation.
Collaborate with processing, underwriting, and closing teams to ensure timely and accurate loan fulfillment.
Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential mortgage loan originations.
Proven track record of successful sales and relationship management.
Strong understanding of TRID and RESPA compliance requirements.
Experience with Encompass loan origination system preferred.
Correspondent loan sale experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of DU (Desktop Underwriter) and/or DO (Desktop Originator) is a plus.
Knowledge of Fannie Mae loan programs is beneficial.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
