About The Role The Tax Resolution leader will head the payroll and tax-focused organization, empowering the team to drive business forward, coach members, and deliver world‑class service to small‑business owners while improving workflows and efficiency.

About The Team The Tax teams within the Payroll Operations org provide core services that give customers peace of mind. The Tax Resolution team ensures impeccable delivery of key customer needs. We seek an energetic, results‑oriented, inspirational leader who can influence cross‑functionally and scale the team.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

Cultivate a culture of engagement and customer‑centricity, encouraging team members to prioritize customer needs and grow professionally.

Drive strategic initiatives to enhance the notice resolution experience using emerging technologies and operating systems for excellence.

Lead and empower a team of individual contributors to resolve tax notices and improve the overall customer experience.

Own quarterly and annual objectives related to tax resolution and customer satisfaction.

Champion change management to implement organization‑wide improvements that elevate the customer experience.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with onboarding, product, and engineering to streamline operations and increase efficiency.

Proactively seek and incorporate internal and external customer feedback to drive continuous process improvements.

What We’re Looking For

1–3+ years of management experience.

3+ years in operations.

Proven track record of high customer satisfaction and operational efficiencies.

Strategic thinking and ability to influence across multiple business units.

Customer‑first mindset with a first‑principle approach to world‑class service.

Thrives in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.

Bonus points for payroll and tax industry experience.

Compensation:

Denver & most major metro locations: $69,390 – $105,060 per year. San Francisco & New York: $89,795 – $116,734 per year. Final offers are determined by location, experience, and expertise.

Office Expectations:

Employees based in Denver, San Francisco, or New York are expected to work from the office 2–3 days per week (or more, depending on role). Remote or hybrid arrangements require a reliable internet connection on non‑office days.
