Senior Human Resources Generalist – Benchmark

Summary Responsible for daily Human Resource functions to include, but not limited to, employee relations and recruitment and ensures leadership follows the appropriate policies, procedures and legal obligations.
Responsibilities
Involved with documentation related to co-worker counseling, performance appraisals and other required documentation, as well as disciplinary action up to and including termination and making hiring decisions
Help co-workers and supervisors settle work-related conflicts through counsel and recommendations
Act as a resource to employees/leaders/managers regarding employee issues and interpreting Company policies, procedures and benefits
May be responsible for one or more HRIS processes
Assist in developing department goals, objectives and systems
Develop and place employment and other community related ads
Assist in overseeing the on-site organization and coordination of production staffing
Assist in monitoring and supporting company policies and procedures and federal/state regulations, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, sexual harassment investigations, etc.
Conduct exit interviews with staff to determine if corrective actions may retain valued staff
May contribute to employee communications vehicles
Participate in various employee training classes
May coordinate and actively participate in new co-worker orientations, interviews or specific subject matter training
Perform department audits
Perform routine plant tours
May perform other duties as necessary to support the HR function or Division
Work with senior Human Resource management in a variety of employee relations situations; Offer recommendations for courses of action and resolution
Assist in overseeing others in Human Resources and as the Designate in human resource management absence
Address and recommend resolutions to more complex issues involving any of the Human Resource programs (benefits, employee relations, etc.)
May serve as the Editor for regular employee communications vehicles
May oversee/train others in the department or be the designated HR management representative in the absence of that management
Qualifications
A 4 year degree in Human resources or related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Effective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required
Effective organization and prioritization skills
Demonstrate high attention to detail
Ability to work with diverse groups
Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment and professionalism
Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, exercising discretion and independent judgment
Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools
Strong customer service and client focus
Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office products
Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state employment regulations
Ability to work weekends and off-shifts, as needed
Ability to travel to other Benchmark locations, as needed
Education 4 year degree in Human Resources or related degree
Location Geographical Location: Minnesota: Winona Physical Location: Winona, MN - East (4065)
Schedule Shift: Shift 1 Work Schedule: M-F 0800-1700 Full Time
Compensation Compensation Range: $79,562 to $119,344 USD (based on skills, certifications, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs)
