Compliance Specialist Details
Job Title: Compliance Specialist
Location: Council Bluffs
Salary: $60,000 - $75,000
Job Description & Requirements Looking for a self‑motivated, detail‑oriented individual to help direct the regulatory function at a growing ethanol company. This individual is responsible for completing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory filings with various regulatory agencies, keeping up to date on regulatory changes, enhancement and potential automation on the filing and completing the monthly internal controls audit for the company. Completion of LCFS and GREET model calculators in conjunction with outside verifiers.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Complete annual regulatory calculators such as LCFS and GREET.
Complete required regulatory filings on time and with accuracy.
Identify potential data issues or unusual data results based on historical amounts.
Keep abreast of new regulatory requirements or changes to the regulations impacting the ethanol industry.
Provide suggestions on enhancing or automating the regulatory filing process.
Complete audits of internal controls and report the results to the Leadership Team.
Creation and/or updating and enforcement of compliance policies.
Direct interaction with various audit teams to explain and detail internal processes.
Qualifications
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Excel.
Ability to identify unusual or unique data patterns.
Excellent communication skills.
A desire for process improvement and learning systems that could be useful in that endeavor.
Experience with accounting, data analysis, regulatory filings, or other related compliance work required.
LCFS and/or GREET calculator experience.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
Prior auditing experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred but not required.
