This position will support projects throughout North Carolina, typically within 1.5 hours of their respective McGill office, but overnight travel is required.
Responsibilities
Collect field survey data via collection systems (examples: robotic total station, digital and auto levels, GPS instruments)
Digitally document all phases of work through field notes, daily reports, and other project documentation
Analyze and interpret public records and research (examples: deeds, plans, utility records, and other pertinent documents related to land development)
Ensure accurate control networks and topographical locations
Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment and vehicles
Communicate with the public as needed
Communicate/collaborate with McGill staff as needed
May supervise field personnel
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED minimum and 5+ years of professional land surveying experience
Valid driver's license
Must have the physical ability to work outdoors in all weather for extended periods of time and be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to travel and work on projects throughout North Carolina and the surrounding states
