Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

Educational Requirements and Qualifications
Diploma as a graduate of School of Respiratory Therapy and/or credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
Credentialed by the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
Licensed by the state of Indiana as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
Must possess Basic Life Support certification or obtain prior to providing direct patient care. Thereafter, maintain BLS certification per hospital policy.
Must possess and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or be willing to obtain in a timely manner.
Primary Duties
Perform inpatient and outpatient respiratory therapy procedures as ordered by the physicians and performed according to the departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Respond to Code Blue, Condition H, Dr Section and C-Sections as well as assist in emergency resuscitation.
May be trained to perform endotracheal intubation.
Ability to perform arterial blood gases as outlined by departmental procedure and policy.
Must be flexible with the department schedule and have ability to adapt to variations in scheduling (including but not limited to overtime, work schedule changes or low census).
Responsible for working independently and/or cooperatively with other staff.
Proficient with electronic charting; communicate clearly; understand hospital processes including standards, reports, trends, correspondence and practices, and policies and procedures; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.
Check and maintain all oxygen equipment for the hospital.
