Coastside ED RN – Mid shift 11am‑2300

AHMC HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Coastside ED Registered Nurse to deliver outstanding clinical care during the mid shift. The role requires strong assessment, clinical judgment, and collaboration with the emergency department team to ensure the highest quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Assess and document patients’ physical, emotional, spiritual, psychosocial, and educational needs.

Interview patients, families, and significant others to complete triage information and identify priorities.

Conduct continuous assessment of patient condition and adjust care plans accordingly.

Plan nursing care based on priority of needs, develop realistic short‑term goals, and involve patients and families in discharge planning.

Implement nursing care plans, prescribed procedures, and treatments, including IV catheters, medication administration, dressings, and patient education.

Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions as the primary nurse and evaluate effectiveness of care.

Recognize and respond promptly to emergency medical situations, including CPR, O2, and other life‑saving interventions.

Communicate critical information to team members and provide ongoing education to patients and families.

Maintain accurate and concise documentation of patient status, responses, and care outcomes.

Continuously update clinical knowledge through continuing education, in‑services, and literature review, and apply new knowledge to clinical practice.

Advocate for public health and safety through patient and family education.

Adhere to the Nurse Practice Act, state and federal regulations, Joint Commission guidelines, and Title XXII.

Demonstrate caring, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, colleagues, and physicians.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Baccalaureate degree preferred.

Minimum six months of registered nurse experience, with six months in an emergency department or completion of Seton ER Nurse Training Program.

Current California Registered Nurse license.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.

Preferred certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Management of Assaultive Behavior (AB508).

Knowledge of the California Nursing Practice Act, Title XXII, and all relevant policies and procedures.

Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.

Ability to diffusing Assaultive Behavior Training and follow all nursing service protocols.
