Radiologic Technologist A

Radiologic Technologist

performs radiological procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision. They also perform a variety of technical and imaging procedures that require independent judgment. Assumes responsibility for patient safety and image quality protocols. Assist Physicians and Radiologists in special procedures.

Education

Graduate of Radiologic program, which is accredited by the Joint Review Committee for Radiology Technology Education (JRCRTE).

License / Certification / Registration

Valid State Licensure

Training / Experience

Completion of accredited Radiology Technologist program.

Principle Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

Perform M.I. procedures as ordered, including xrays, fluoros

Standby in surgery with C-arm

Utilize portable xray equipment as needed.

Perform procedures on inpatients, outpatients, and ER patients

Transport patients

Process films

Forward films to ER and discuss findings with physician, if needed

Assist with peer group interviews

Work you share of overtime when heavy workload arises

Order and stock supplies

Handle equipment problems by investigation, calling repair service, notifying Tech Supervisor or Manager

Assist coworkers with transport and procedures

Be abreast of all P.I. projects and areas routinely monitored

Assists in departmental orientation to new employees

Follow IMC Standards of Performance, Hospital Goals, Department Goals

Responsible for scheduling and cost of continuing education
