Minimum Qualifications:
High School graduate; BS degree preferred. Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Certified by the State of Mississippi to practice and administer radiation. Current BCLS certification. Obtain patient signatures for necessary consent or pregnancy forms. If patient is unsure of LMP, contact physician about a pregnancy test before proceeding with the study. Assist licensed independent practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures. Perform the necessary procedures ordered by the attending physician in a professional manner. Scan all consent forms and pregnancy forms into the Avreo PACS system. Participate in Quality Assurance, Safety, and Risk Management. Attend and do all in‑services on computer. Apply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others. Be punctual and dependable for scheduled work hours. Meet all Mississippi State Licensing requirements. Meet all ARRT continuing education requirements. Identify, prepare and/or administer medications as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner. Transport and assist patients when needed. Report any patient or employee incidences to Radiology Supervisor. Notify Radiology Supervisor of any malfunctions of equipment. Notify the ordering physician if a wrong procedure or projections have been entered into the order entry and ask for correction. Compare diagnosis with each radiology procedure to make sure it is acceptable. Charge each patient with the correct radiology procedure. Abide by the ARRT Code of Ethics. Evaluate images for technical quality and provide proper identification is recorded. Identify and respond in emergency situations. Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
