Physical Therapist Assistant – Full‑time, Home Care, Bronson at Home

$5k Sign‑On Bonus Under the direction and guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides treatment to patients suffering from injuries, muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases to improve or restore function, increase strength, relieve pain, and enhance functional independence. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

Education and Licensure

Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant Program required.

Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing in the state of Michigan (preferred).

BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

Current driver's license in the state of Michigan and proof of insurance required; availability of a car for daily business use.

Key Responsibilities

Follow the plan of care and goals established by the Physical Therapist.

Provide direct patient care, including performing physical, electrical, mechanical, and heat treatments according to treatment plan.

Conduct individual and/or group Physical Therapy activities, facilitating and instructing patients in the skills necessary to participate.

Engage in interdisciplinary team discussions or hospital rounds.

Develop and implement education programs for patients, families, and community.

Maintain up‑to‑date clinical knowledge and competencies.

Administrative Duties

Document work in the electronic health record according to compliance timelines.

Communicate to leadership any limitations preventing timely documentation.

Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records for each person served.

Serve on committees and task forces and participate in process improvement.

Demonstrate time‑management skills.

Supervise Rehab Clinical Assistant, PTA students, and volunteers.

Physical Demands Work involves frequent standing, walking, lifting lightweight objects (≤20 lbs) and occasional heavier patient transfers. Physical, visual, and mental fatigue is expected, with significant deadlines and the need to operate a PC or mobile device up to 40% of the time.
