Position Summary Under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor, operate fixed and portable radiology equipment to take radiographs of designated portions of the body. Ensures quality assurance including record keeping, safety, and patient satisfaction. Work collaboratively with physician(s) to facilitate patient care and physician efficiency and assist with examination and care of clinic patients as needed.

Essential Functions

Operate radiology equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified body areas.

Operate equipment at the computer console for storage, transfer, playback of data, generating images, and other means.

Assure patient safety and satisfaction.

Position patient on examining table.

Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation and confidence.

Examine radiology images for technical quality and diagnostic usefulness.

Prepare work area, exam rooms, and equipment.

Escort patients to rooms, take and record vital signs, document personal information such as allergies and medications within patient medical record.

Perform daily organizational tasks such as locating all X‑rays and MRI reports.

Apply casts, splints, dressings, and DME products as directed.

Remove splints, dressings, casts, sutures, and staples as directed.

Clean examination rooms and equipment after examinations.

Sterilize or coordinate the sterilization of all instruments.

Ensure adequate stock of instruments and supplies.

Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as deemed appropriate.

Flexible to work with any physician or other allied health provider.

Advanced knowledge of anatomy, medical terms, and radiology equipment.

PC skills required.

Physical Demands Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients weighing up to 300 pounds and placing them in appropriate positions. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination for operation and repair of all department equipment. Requires normal visual acuity for operation of equipment and review of films. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

Credentials Desired Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education, successful completion of an accredited radiology program, a valid Florida license as a Radiology Technologist, and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).

HOURS:

Monday 8am–8pm; Friday 8am–5pm
