About The Role
Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is hiring a Mortgage Loan Originator in Spanish Fork.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, as well as provide exceptional service throughout the sales process
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to complete mortgage transactions
Develop and maintain a personal business plan which includes all aspects of loan originations from customer service to marketing and networking, with knowledge of products and the industry
Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control
Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frames, ensuring comprehension of each training module
Maintain NMLS registration under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z
Adhere to Altabank Core Values
Inform management appropriately of area activities and significant problems
Participate in community service and bank-sponsored activities that support the mission and values of Altabank
Provide superior internal and external customer service, demonstrating courtesy and respect toward all customers and colleagues
Represent Altabank professionally, maintaining a positive "can‑do" attitude, good attendance, punctuality, and adaptability to meet bank and customer needs, while keeping the work area tidy and upholding customer privacy
Maintain regular and predictable attendance to achieve in‑person contact with customers

About You QUALIFICATIONS
Two to five years of similar or related experience
A two‑year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required 2‑5 years of mortgage origination experience in conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and Jumbo loans
Must have and maintain an NMLS ID number (S.A.F.E. Act registration)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY
Excellent customer service skills
Strong knowledge of conventional and government guidelines
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong computer skills
Calm and professional interaction with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside the organization
Regular, reliable, and timely attendance
Adaptability to change (e.g., shifting priorities, demands, and timelines) through effective time management and problem‑solving skills

The employee may also be required to: operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators; routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6–8 hours per day when necessary; work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management; be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance; and be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation.
