Job Description
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in for routine health care or for life‑defining health decisions. The PSR I draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
Maintain a safe and professional environment.
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public.
Requirements
Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric sampling.
Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience
Minimum 6 months of experience required; one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience a must.
Additional Job Details Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from the worksite, and must be on time and stay for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness is not tolerated and may result in termination.
