Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory PRN Respiratory Therapist
Required
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
NBRC credentials as a respiratory therapist.
RRT and CRT credentials accepted.
Current Wyoming licensure as a respiratory therapist.
Current Wyoming licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Work collaboratively with medical providers, the supervisor and lead staff, who oversee, and coordinate patient care provided by the Respiratory Therapy and Cardiac Rehab departments.
Assemble, operate, maintain, and monitor a wide variety of equipment including ventilators and those that are involved in the administrations of prescribed gases and inhaled medication.
Perform arterial punctures.
Act as a clinical resource to nursing staff by assisting with decision making, assessment, treatment and documentation of respiratory care.
Knowledge of home oxygen equipment and order as required.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients they are serving in the ED, Impatient floor, RT Office and Clinic or other areas.
Required Certifications
BLS upon hire.
ACLS, PALS, and NRP are required within 6 months of hire.
Desirable Experience in intubation, tracheostomy care, CPAP, BiPAP, heated high flow nasal cannula, deep suctioning, sputum collection, nebulizer treatments, cardiac rehab, PFT’s, Zio Patches, Nonin NOC OX, knowledge of EMT, good customer service skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract variables.
Other Requirements Participate in a team approach. Always report abnormal findings in physical or emotional condition of patients to other RTs, nursing staff and providers.
