Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region’s Level II Trauma and tertiary care center and home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.
Responsibilities
Conduct a program of treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system in a safe and therapeutically effective manner.
Administer and document medication in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Correctly administer Cardiopulmonary Care Services in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
Precept employees, new orientations, and students.
Maintain awareness of environmental conditions and initiate corrective intervention as indicated.
Maintain a professional relationship with the medical staff.
Qualifications
High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Completion of a respiratory care program approved by the American Medical Association.
Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Idaho Licensed Respiratory Therapist licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within six months of hire and maintain them as current.
Preferred Job Requirements
PALS certification.
