Salary Base pay range: $14.00/hr – $15.00/hr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience—talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Location & Hours This job is located in Rushford, MN. Work schedule: Non‑Exempt/As Schedule – approx. 27 hours every 2 weeks. Required to work 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. every other Saturday.

Reports To Therapeutic Recreation Director

Travel None‑Moderate

Job Summary Under the direction of the TR Director, the TR Aide will assist in coordinating and implementing therapeutic activity programs on a daily basis to meet the individual resident’s needs and interests.

Essential Functions

Must post the daily activity schedule in designated areas first thing in the morning and follow that schedule unless authorized otherwise.

Set up/clean up all scheduled activities including assisting residents to and from activity programs.

Will chart resident attendance, do 1‑1 visits, progress note and sensory groups.

Will run errands for residents with TR Director’s approval, delivering resident mail, and also make purchases for the TR department or residents if requested.

Assist in maintaining activity equipment and supplies along with maintaining the aviary.

Must encourage resident participation and have a positive attitude.

Lead or assist in leading small to large recreation groups. Assist TR Director in supervising and guiding volunteers.

Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of resident restrictions and needs; familiarity with all established rules, regulations, emergency and disaster plans put in place by the Home.

Ability to work congenially with others, willingness to help others, flexibility, and ability to work independently.

Must show good leadership and time management, be detail oriented and have solid communication skills.

Able to decorate for holidays and ever‑changing seasons, dress in costumes or outfits for special event days.

Able to handle conflict calmly.

Physical Demands

Direct participation in fine and gross motor activities.

Will perform several levels of physical work—pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, sitting, carrying, stooping, reaching.

Job requires carrying up to 10 lbs continuously, 11–34 lbs frequently, and 35–50 lbs occasionally. Short emergency situations could require lifting and supporting 50 lbs or greater.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.

Must possess a current valid driver’s license to drive the bus, van, car or golf cart.

Basic skills—dependability, accountability, punctuality, creativity, enthusiasm; able to organize and delegate activity duties; show good problem solving and excellent safety judgment.

Good communication skills—patient and calm when explaining recreation group; good health with emotional and mental maturity; respect for human life and individuality.

Good observation skills—able to note any changes in resident activity level for care planning; note any special interests or social contact of resident with others.

Interpersonal skills—sensitivity to the needs, interests, and abilities of residents; show warmth and friendliness to residents, family members and other staff.
