Direct Support Professional - Residential ACLD was born in 1957 to provide services for children with developmental disabilities. Today, the nonprofit employs over 1200 staff across more than 70 program sites in Nassau and Suffolk counties. ACLD helps children, teens, and adults achieve independence and live fulfilled lives. We are seeking motivated individuals to assist adults diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities in becoming self‑sufficient. In This Position, You Will
Help people supported achieve and exceed their personal goals Provide structure and emotional support Assist in resolving behavioral issues Help people with personal hygiene needs Complete detailed, accurate documentation Transport individuals to and from medical appointments and recreation activities using Agency vehicles Qualifications
Valid NYS driver’s license High school diploma or equivalent Experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population preferred; training provided Experience as a caregiver, care assistant, personal assistant, resident assistant, direct care worker, nursing assistant, home care aide or companion is a plus Salary ranges from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour.
