OVERVIEW CMMS CPAs & Advisors PLLC, an ATLAS Navigators Firm, seeks a dedicated and experienced
Senior Audit Associate
to join our Amarillo office. As a key member of our audit team, you will play an essential role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our clients’ financial statements. You’ll work closely with Directors, Managers, and CPAs to support audit engagements and internal control reviews while delivering exceptional client service. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with audit engagement execution, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases;
Review and test internal controls in compliancewith federal regulations and industry standards;
Analyze financial and operational processes to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance;
Prepare and index audit working papers and documentation in accordance with professional standards;
Support fieldwork activities, which may be conducted at client locations;
Maintain effective communication with clients and respond to their audit‑related inquiries;
Ensure proper file management practices while upholding client confidentiality;
Collaborate with team members and provide support across audit projects as needed.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal and written;
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and customer service;
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
Proficient in using audit and accounting software such as CCH;
Familiarity with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS);
Strong commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality;
Service‑oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving;
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required;
CPA license or CPA eligibility preferred;
3–5 years of relevant experience in auditing, preferably within a public accounting firm;
