Job Overview
The Child Life Assistant (CLA) provides pediatric patients, siblings and other family members developmentally appropriate play and recreation opportunities in playrooms, at bedside or in other Patient Family Support Services spaces. The CLA maintains playrooms and CFL resources while ensuring proper cleaning and safety precautions are taken. The CLA promotes normal growth and development in the medical environment for pediatric patients in collaboration with Child-Family Life Specialists. The CLA will also collaborate with other Patient and Family Support Services departments to assist with various duties associated with implementing patient and family-oriented programs and resources and training/orienting volunteers.
Required Qualifications
Associate of Arts in Child Development or related field
2 years working with children in a structured environment
Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) within 30 Days
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts in Child Development or related field
2 years experience working with children in a healthcare setting
