is seeking a

Cloud Architect

to manage and identify program high‑level technical specifications, with a primary focus on the installation, configuration, and operation of Command & Control (C2) software applications for the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS). This role encompasses application design, cloud computing strategy and adoption, and the integration of software applications into a functioning system to meet mission requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead the installation, configuration, and operation of Command & Control (C2) software applications for the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS).

Manage and identify high‑level technical specifications for software applications, including defining system architecture, designing data models, and developing interface specifications.

Build, install, configure, and support AOC C2 Applications and VM‑based systems, including operations and sustainment, across development, test, and production environments.

Operate and maintain cloud‑based infrastructure, including provisioning and configuring cloud resources, monitoring system performance, and ensuring cloud security and compliance.

Configure AWS cloud resources, both manually and via automation, to implement necessary compute, storage, network, and security configurations.

Develop automation code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell to partially or fully automate the deployment, installation, and configuration of applications on Windows and Linux servers, as well as containerized applications hosted in Kubernetes clusters.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, design documents, and technical guides.

Required Qualifications

9 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

5+ years of experience building, installing, configuring, and supporting AOC C2 Applications and VM‑based systems, including operations and sustainment, across development, test, and production environments.

5+ years of experience configuring AWS cloud resources, both manually and via automation, to implement necessary compute, storage, network, and security configurations.

5+ years of experience developing automation code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell to partially or fully automate the deployment, installation, and configuration of applications on Windows and Linux servers, as well as containerized applications hosted in Kubernetes clusters.

Previous experience working with modern Cloud Service Provider environments, particularly AWS.

Relevant experience to be able to build operational information protection control environments in a cloud environment.

Experience with centralizing, querying, and setting up alerts.

Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++).

Demonstrated experience with shell scripting, including Bash and/or PowerShell.

An understanding of cloud security controls.

Previous experience configuring and deploying a CI/CD pipeline using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.

Previous experience configuring and deploying automated testing tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, OWASP DC, JUnit, and/or Snyk.

US Citizenship and a Secret security clearance.

Desired Qualifications

AWS Solutions Architect certification (or equivalent Cloud Service Provider certification) is highly desired.

Previous experience achieving ATO through the client’s Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.

Previous experience working in a DevOps environment where there was close collaboration between developers and security personnel to increase automation and efficiency within the Software Development Lifecycle.

Experience with Kubernetes environments.

Previous experience supporting the DoD.

Location Hampton, VA.

Salary $130,000.00 - $150,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset.
