The Job at a Glance

The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for the servicing of loans and possesses an understanding of all functions within the Loan Servicing Department. Extensive administrative and member service work with primary responsibilities for the timely and accurate post-close processing, validating, and servicing of member loans. Requires effective communication with members, coworkers, and vendors to ensure coordination and exchange of information.

A Typical Day

Completes research and processing of Real Estate and Consumer loan account matters such as disputes, transaction / data corrections, payment method modification, and processing standard payment transactions.

Respond to inquiries related to Loan Servicing, internally and externally, to assure a timely and accurate response.

Verify the accuracy of data entered into the system, updating missing information and applying corrections as needed.

Complete post-close processing and verification of new loans.

Responsible for the integrity of mortgage escrow accounts including timely disbursements, updates, and member requests.

Maintain and process tax and insurance tracking on mortgages.

Prepare and process payoffs, releases, and insurance related claims for secured loans.

Prepare, complete, and distribute documents, and letters as directed.

Monitors and analyzes escrow accounts such as PMI, Mortgage and Home Equity Loans

Boards and/or conducts QC on Consumer, Mortgage and Home Equity Loans

Calculates and prepares payoff statements, verifications, and discharges.

Post loan payments, reversals, and corrections.

Process loan skip-a-pay, deferments requests, and modification requests.

Process GAP, Credit Life and Disability insurance claims.

Work with loan servicing business partners as directed.

Cross train in all areas of the Loan Servicing Department as directed by Management.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.

Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Good organizational and time management skills

Ability to multi-task with accuracy

Loan servicing experience preferred.
