Parts Specialist
O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Parts Specialist to provide a high level of service to retail and installer customers, and to support store management in assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Follow and promote all company customer service programs (Hi‑5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, etc.)
Greet retail/walk‑in customers courteously and assist them in selecting merchandise
Assist managers and installer service specialists with professional customers as directed
Complete assigned company training relevant to the position
Serve customers by phone, answering calls, locating parts, quoting prices, recommending premium and related items, and offering the Low‑Price Guarantee
Maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept cash/checks, make accurate change, and process credit card transactions
Process exchanges and returns, and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner
Complete daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receipt, stocking shelves, fronting, facing, cleaning, etc.
Prepare merchandise returns for the distribution center, assist with monthly stock adjustments, inventory cycle counts, etc.
Operate brake lathe and store test equipment after training and meet company requirements
Perform in‑store services for customers (when allowed by state and local laws), such as installing wipers, testing and charging batteries, testing charging systems, scanning trouble codes, replacing headlight capsules, etc.
Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle, meeting company driving eligibility requirements, when business needs dictate
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
Outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service skills
Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously
Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, Weatherly Index system, and automotive sales or service
ASE certification
Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
