Administrative Aide I positions assist in the preparation and development of budgets; monitor budget expenditures; monitor grant programs; conduct administrative studies; act as liaison with other government agencies and City departments; prepare charts, displays, correspondence, and reports; and perform other duties as assigned.
NOTE:
Eligible benefited employees originally hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
You must meet the following requirements on the date you apply, unless otherwise indicated. Successful completion of 60 semester/90 quarter college-level units. Two years of full-time experience SUPERVISING clerical positions which MUST include responsibility for the full range of supervisory duties including scheduling assigned functions and ensuring that work is performed correctly; reviewing/approving time cards; interviewing, selecting, and/or recommending qualified personnel for subordinate positions; providing orientation and on-the-job training to ensure that responsibilities are understood by subordinates; monitoring and evaluating the performance of employees through evaluations which you have written, signed and administered; recommending/administering personnel actions for employee recognition, counseling, and/or discipline. One year of full-time subprofessional experience in at least one of the following areas: administrative, budgetary, personnel, or related work or studies. A combination of the education and experience as specified above.
NOTES:
Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education lacked on a year-for-year basis. One year of full-time experience = 30 semester/45 quarter college-level units. Clerical experience (i.e., typing, filing, providing information to the public, general bookkeeping, word processing, payroll, data entry, typing or assembling budget documents) is
NOT
qualifying. City of San Diego employees using Out-of-Class Assignment (OCA) experience to qualify must submit written documentation signed by their appointing authority or payroll specialist, detailing the work performed, dates, and total number of qualifying OCA hours. OCA experience without the required documentation will NOT be considered.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
Experience using computer software in an office or customer service environment, including Salesforce, Amazon Connect, Agent Desktop, and Microsoft Office applications.
