Parts Counter Associate

Pay Rate USD 20.00–35.00 per hour (dependent on education and experience).
Essential Functions
Retrieve phone and walk‑in customer requests for parts.
Locate parts for various machines (CAT and other brands serviced).
Find parts using the automated system.
Maintain organized notes and desk for quick access to information.
Process warranty credits/inspections and warranty return processes.
Pull orders and process customer and shop order credits and quotes.
Place proper shipping instructions on orders.
Cooperate with teammates to reach warehouse/parts goals.
Liaise with Service Shops for parts backorders.
Answer phone calls promptly and professionally.
Assist counter personnel with parts information.
Support supervisor with projects when called upon.
Handle on‑call duties, assisting customers after hours.
Appropriately suggest additional purchases when selling a part.
Provide leads to PSSRs, Service shops, etc.
Relay technical parts information as necessary.
Direct customers to the proper service technicians when more information is required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education And Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
1+ year experience working with parts.
1+ year administrative/clerical experience.
1+ year customer service experience.
1+ year sales experience.
Physical Demands & Competencies
Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing.
Squatting/kneeling.
Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs.
Data entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills.
Safety & product knowledge.
Medium workload including lifting/moving objects up to 32 pounds or more.
Work Environment
Noise: Loud.
Environment: Indoors and outdoors.
