The Commercial Banking Assistant I assists the Business Development Officer (BDO), Commercial Relationship Manager (CRM), Market Manager, and/or Regional Manager (RM) within the First Community Bank (FCB) Commercial Banking Operation (CBO) while providing superior customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with BDOs, corporate staff, portfolio managers, and at times CRMs and RMs.

Facilitate the loan process on new and renewed loan production normally on relationships under $1 million in total exposure.

Forward correspondence to attorneys and title companies regarding pending and closing loans.

Collaborate with the commercial credit department to provide information on behalf of BDOs and CRMs and load primarily small business credits for approval.

Focus on overall onboarding of bank relationships for customers, including deposit and loan relationships while maintaining positive and professional customer relationships.

Serve as a liaison for administrative tasks related to the commercial relationship.

Complete training, as assigned, within the expected timeframes.

Requirements

Banking experience preferred.

Understanding of relationship management.

Self-starter with minimal management oversight.

Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to make oral and written presentations.

Effective organizational and time management skills.

Ability to effectively utilize computer technology with proficiency in all software applications used by the FCB CBO.

Ability to travel as needed, including occasional overnight travel.

The salary range is based on market data associated with the position; pay will be commensurate with experience, education, and other qualifications.

Location: Christiansburg, VA | Salary: $48.18-$80.30 per hour.
