Your Impact at SAM As a Senior Survey Technician, you will support office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables. You will report to the Project Manager and perform technical tasks utilizing the latest technology in the A/E/C industry. You will help increase project efficiency and client satisfaction by:
Coordinating with the Project Manager to ensure project requirements are met in the office and the field
Processing field data and performing initial CAD work on land survey deliverables
Assisting with quality control of client‑specific deliverables
Monitoring field crew production and quality assurance
Training field/office staff in best practices and standards
Providing field support for the land survey staff as needed
Performing initial QC of field deliverables according to standards and best practices
Performing QC checks on‑site to verify the quality of work
Daily processing of data, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, professional, and industry standards related to boundary calculations, legal descriptions, etc.
Performing deed research, deed plotting, and map checks
Preparing land survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings
Providing technical office support (brief and de‑brief) for field crews
Performing quality control checks of land survey plats and drawings prepared by others
Ensuring schedules and productivity objectives for preparation of land survey plats and drawings are met
What You Bring to SAM
Strong computer and technical skills; MicroStation required, AutoCAD preferred
Proficiency in technical math; geometry and trigonometry are a plus
