ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Works towards guaranteeing ultimate customer service and satisfaction.

Processes all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled.

Receives and processes tax and title paperwork from the F&I Department.

Prepares tax and title documents.

Submits all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Checks for accuracy in the application and ensures that all information is complete.

Transfers trade titles.

Prepares Certificates of Origin.

Types and signs titles and Manufacturers Certificates of Origin.

Records and files new Manufacturers Certificates of Origin and invoices.

Buys, delivers/mails license plates for lease customers.

Maintains a system to verify out-of-state titles.

Reviews tax and title‑related accounting journals on a regular basis.

Mail titles/memo titles to customers within accounting department guidelines.

Compiles and maintains a complete list of all outstanding title work. Reports to management on the status of any missing or problem titles and provides a current list of outstanding titles to the Controller at the end of month.

Processes yearly renewal of dealer tags in conjunction with Controller.

Stays abreast of title regulations. Attends seminars held by local licensing bureaus and any available training on title regulations.

Communicates to F&I managers and sales personnel updates regarding title regulations and procedures. Forwards all updates to F&I Coordinator.

Notary Requirement Must be a notary or be willing to obtain a notary license.

Cross‑training Responsibilities Cross‑trains others to handle title clerk daily responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Valid Ohio Driver’s License and a good driving record.
