Chula Seafood South Scottsdale is fishing for a hardworking, detail‑driven Sous Chef to help lead one of our busiest kitchens. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role focused on executing our chef‑driven menu while collaborating on specials and seasonal features with our culinary team.

About the Role As Sous Chef, you’ll help run the kitchen day‑to‑day—ensuring quality, consistency, and high standards from prep to plate. You’ll work closely with the Executive Chef on inventory, scheduling, training, and team development, while also getting your hands dirty on the line every shift. You’ll lead by example, support the crew, and help keep the back of house running like a well‑oiled (and well‑salted) machine.

Our South Scottsdale location is where the Chula story truly began—and it’s still one of our most beloved kitchens. We’re proud of what we’ve built, and we’re looking for a Sous Chef who’s excited to help us grow even stronger.
Responsibilities
Support the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations.
Lead BOH staff on the line, setting the tone for every shift.
Maintain quality control, cleanliness, and organization.
Assist with inventory, ordering, and food cost controls.
Participate in creative development for specials and seasonal features.
Help train and develop a tight‑knit, high‑functioning kitchen team.
Qualifications
3+ years in a kitchen leadership role (Sous or strong Lead Line).
Scratch kitchen experience; seafood a plus.
Great communication, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills.
Calm under pressure, clear under fire.
Culinary degree a plus, but not required.
Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must love food. Must love hospitality. Must be hungry to grow.
