Job Overview Cognitive Intervention Specialist

– Management & Training Corporation – Glen Ray Goodman Transfer Facility, Jasper, Texas.

Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, $16.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Provide didactic sessions according to program curricula.

Present cognitive intervention education and life skills classes.

Guide and assist clients in complying with facility rules and regulations.

Supervise client offender work functions and morning wake‑up routines.

Notify personnel of clients failing to comply with policies.

Monitor client behavior and report incidents to the treatment team.

Promote positive social skills through modeling and intervention, and give regular feedback on social skills procedures.

Maintain accountability of staff, offenders, and property; adhere to safety practices.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.

Associate’s degree in psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, criminal justice, education, nursing, or health preferred; related experience a plus.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.

Complete Correctional Awareness Training (CAT), Training for Trainers (T4T), and Cognitive Intervention Programming (CIP).

Complete annual in‑service training and pass annual background check approved by Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
