This is a Part-Time position with an anticipated schedule of Saturday and Sunday 8:30am-5:00pm. Other availability as needed is a plus but not required.
Job Summary An Activity Assistant is responsible for planning and facilitating engaging activities for seniors that enhance the quality of life for participants in various settings for our Assisted Living and Memory Care units.
Key Responsibilities
PlanningActivities:Developandimplementadiverserangeofactivitiesthatcatertotheinterestsandneedsofparticipants,includingsocial,recreational,andeducationalevents.
FacilitatingParticipation:Encourageandassistparticipantsinengagingwithactivities,ensuringasupportiveandinclusiveenvironment.
LogisticsManagement: Handle day to day changes from small to big activities/events with the help of one teammate.
FeedbackandImprovement: Gather feedback from participants to evaluate the effectiveness of activities and suggest improvements for future events.
Required Skills and Qualifications
InterpersonalSkills:Strongcommunicationandinterpersonalskillstoeffectivelyengagewithparticipantsandcollaboratewithteammembers.
OrganizationalSkills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, ensuring smooth execution of activities.
Creativity:Acreativemindsettodevelopengagingandenjoyableactivitiesthatcatertodiverseinterests.
Experience: Previous experience in event planning (recommended but not required), community engagement, or a related field is often preferred.
Work Environment The Activity Assistant typically works in varied environments, including indoor activity rooms, outdoor recreational spaces, and occasionally off-site event locations (such as a bus trip with the residents). They may work in settings such as parks and museums on a field trip.
