The Opportunity Rex seeks a Legal Ops Associate/Paralegal, Employment Law Specialist to drive execution across internal investigations, compliance workflows, and employee‑related legal processes in a fast‑moving environment.
This role sits at the intersection of law, operations, and people systems, ensuring precision, discipline, and confidentiality across all employment‑related matters.
You will manage investigations, compliance reporting, and dispute resolution end‑to‑end, building the infrastructure that enables the company to operate with speed and integrity at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and execute internal investigations into employee matters, ensuring fairness, rigor, and confidentiality
Oversee employment law compliance workflows, including federal and state filings, reporting, and documentation
Handle EEOC, DOL, and state agency proceedings from initial charge to resolution, with minimal reliance on outside counsel
Develop and implement scalable systems for compliance tracking, employee relations documentation, and legal recordkeeping
Partner with HR and leadership to align people operations and legal obligations
Design AI‑driven legal ops workflows to streamline document collection, analysis, and reporting
Maintain readiness for litigation, including electronic discovery coordination and motion practice support
Build relationships with external counsel and agencies, managing engagements with discipline and cost awareness
Support immigration and visa processing workflows as part of broader compliance management
Continuously improve internal legal infrastructure to reduce risk, drive clarity, and accelerate decision‑making
Ideal Candidate Profile
3–6 years of experience in employment law, legal operations, or workplace investigations
Proven ability to manage compliance programs and handle EEOC or state‑level agency proceedings
Strong documentation, writing, and organizational skills with uncompromising attention to detail
Demonstrated experience with high‑volume legal or HR compliance environments
Tech fluent, able to leverage AI tools and legal ops systems to optimize workflows
Familiarity with visa processing, workplace investigations, and compliance frameworks a plus
Bilingual (Spanish) candidates strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $50,000 to $80,000 annually
Opportunity for performance‑based bonus and/or equity in deals and funds
