Energy Sales & Delivery Specialist DEPARTMENT: Energy

REPORTS TO: Refined Fuels/Sales Manager
STATUS: Exempt
SALARY: $60,000-$65,000 plus Commission
Purpose And Summary Statement: Under the direction of the Energy Refined Fuels/Sales Manager, delivers and generates profitable energy sales in the assigned territory through target marketing, prospecting, cold calling, competitive analysis, and providing value‑added energy products, services, and recommendations. Ensures the credit‑worthiness of customers and promotes credit programs as marketing tools. This is a salary plus commission structured position.
Essential Job Functions
Develop new fuel and lubricant business within the assigned territory through prospecting, cold calls, referrals and lead follow‑up while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers through regular communication and on‑site visits.
Provides value‑added energy products, services, and recommendations to patrons and prospects.
Establish a route delivery system, delivering petroleum products according to customer requirements in the assigned territory.
Schedules product delivery to customer locations in a timely and efficient manner.
Conducts regular patron meetings on product and technical information.
Utilizes target marketing and professional sales techniques including the FS sales interview road map, energy management programs, emphasis of appropriate features and benefits, and contact management system when calling on patrons and prospects in an effort of promoting the FS brand.
Records sales or deliveries information on daily sales. Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
Communicates marketing programs and distributes sales promotion materials to customers and prospects.
Adheres to and supports the company credit policy, checking credit history of patrons before making a sale, and explaining policy to new customers. Collects accounts as needed according to company credit policy. Promotes the use of FS credit / Agri‑Finance as a sales tool.
Provides customer service using tank maintenance programs, tank monitoring programs, oil testing programs, etc. Follows up on all customer complaints and seeks solutions in a timely manner, seeking a “win/win” resolution.
Submits required reports promptly as requested by supervisor and communicates activities in trade territory on a regular basis.
Develops territory and competitive analysis to maintain current knowledge of the marketplace and the competition.
Other Job Functions
Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards, adheres to the uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.
Will be responsible for billing and inventory management for products delivered.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and 1‑2 years or more of sales experience.
Energy Management Specialist (EMS) certification or the ability to obtain one.
Understanding of all energy products and sales persuasiveness, face‑to‑face selling skills, assertiveness, tenacity/persistence, resilience, competitive adeptness, credit‑worthiness, and product proficiency.
Proven ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
Proven professional communication, persuasion, presentation, and customer service skills.
Demonstrated planning, organization, time management, and problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrated math skills and the ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, etc.
Ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.
Demonstrated core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement.
Must be able to travel independently.
Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, sit, stand, crawl, climb and reach difficult areas as job demands.
Must be able to pass a pre‑employment physical and drug test, as well as random ordered tests.
Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered “normal.”
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education in GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Additional Compensation Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certains roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
