Starting salary minimum $23.37 per hour; adjustable for Kentucky law enforcement experience $850 annual clothing allowance $4300/year KLEFPF Fund 3 vacation weeks after 1-year probation 11 Paid holidays + 1 additional day for birthday 1 sick day per month (accumulated 120 days) Yearly sick time buy-back program at ½ rate available for employees not using sick leave beyond 120 days Full uniform issued upon employment Duty weapon provided YMCA membership 3/4 paid for one adult membership On duty physical wellness opportunities Take home vehicle within 15 miles 12-hour work schedule with 8 hours built in overtime Hazardous duty retirement through County Employee Retirement System $100,000.00 term life insurance carried by the City of Ashland Additional life insurance for spouse and children available Flexible spending account available; includes calendar year minimum $260.00 and maximum $2750 Dependent childcare account available; includes calendar year minimum $260.00 and maximum $5000 Deferred compensation (401k/457/k) available from Commonwealth of Kentucky Health insurance, dental plan and vision plan City of Ashland provides self-insurance plan (Anthem Benefits) for health. Citizen of the United States Meet qualifications in City of Ashland Ordinance #116, 2024 Must be 21 years of age High school graduate or GED Valid driver’s license No prior felony Kentucky Law Enforcement Certification in good standing Graduation from a Kentucky Law Enforcement Council approved academy within the Commonwealth of Kentucky Retired Kentucky peace officers regaining employment with approval from County Employees Retirement System along with contractual requirements under KRS 95.022 Non-retired officers agree to 3-year employment agreement Equal Opportunity Employer
